Bayburt GEOGRAPHICAL FEATURES
East
and southeast of Erzurum, Gumushane west, north of Trabzon and Rize,
Bayburt, surrounded by the provinces of Erzincan to the south, near the
River and the sea 1550 meters northeast of Anatolia Coruh height has
been established.
The climate of
the eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolian climate in Bayburt, the
predominant features of a transitional continental climate prevails. For
this reason, the summers are hot and dry, winters cold and snowy
passes.

Bayburt 3000'li goes back to the years. The city was founded by Azzi.
Bayburt, Medes, Persians, Romans, Byzantine, Umayyad, Saltuklu,
Danismend, Seljuk, Akkoyunlu, Safavid and Ottoman rule remained. After
the proclamation of the Republic, Erzurum, in 1927, was the province due
to Gümüşhane.

Aydintepe Underground City
The
mountainous region northwest of the city of Bayburt Aydıntepe'de parish
center, tuff in the surface 2-2.5 m deep cut into the bedrock without
any other building material galleries, vaulted rooms, and places it
consists of rooms opened wider. Approximately 2 to 2.5 m high, vaulted
galleries on either side in places, is expanding. A square-shaped rooms
are opened in this space, as well as places of observation creates holes
for ventilation conical form, the gallery has been observed also used
to illuminate rooms. Today, the city continues to excavations at the
moment about the two views are put forward.
